Growth is a Process

Everything that you see around is a process. Right from the morning shower to going to bed at night, is a process. Process is a set of activities that are performed in a sequence. Every process will have three things in it. Input, action, and output.

Let us discuss one of the ways how mountains were formed by a process. The earth’s crust crashes against each other, the force moves huge amounts of earth surface upwards forming mountains. That is the simple answer.

In reality, the earth’s plates do not move overnight to form a mountain.

Not in a month. Not in a year. Not even in 100 years! It takes millions of years of slow movement of earth plates. Scientists calculate it to be approximately 10 centimeters per year. That means in one million years it would have moved 10-50 kms. This is the input to the formation of mountains. When the plate movement pushes the earth surface up, it raises a gigantic structure above the earth. The process continues as the mountain is molded, eroded, shaped, hammered by wind, rain, floods, heat; Nature at work, again!

“You are what you eat”

Likewise, the process to build a healthy body has many variables that we call as inputs. Ingredients that you use, how you cook, when you eat, how much you eat are examples of input variables. If the input is good then the output is good too! If there is one person who truly reciprocates your love to them is your own body. Yes, the more you love it, the cleaner your inputs are going to be. The clean and green input will give a hale and healthy body.

Some checks you can use to determine your inputs are healthy.

  • You buy the ingredients, not the dish you want to eat.

  • Cooking oil used is less than 1:1. One liter to one adult per month.

  • Food is always colorful. Contains greens and vegetables.

  • Meat consumed is not frozen.

  • Do not eat leftovers more than 2-3 times in a week.

“Focus on Inputs“

Working out at the gym, playing a sport, being active or adopting any other physical activity will compliment a healthy lifestyle only if food eaten is good quality and clean.

Physical activities result in energy expenditure. In other terms, they burn calories. It is very important to burn excess calories to maintain body weight and achieve specific goals. But the question is where do we get the energy from? Where is the energy gain? It is from the food! Therefore, it is equally important to focus on the sources we gain the energy from. The food we eat. The quantity we eat etc., Remember that energy requirement varies from one individual to another based on your lifestyle and activities involved. However, input being a nutritional one is a must for all.
